REPLACE THE HARD DRIVE IN YOUR LAPTOP

This is an overview of the back of my computer.  The rectangle to the far left is the slot for the hard drive.  I had to open the middle panel in order to open the panel that I needed, but otherwise, consider leaving this stuff alone.

This is a close-up of the rectangle into which you will place the hard drive.

And this is a close-up of the stuff that you are not going to touch even though you have to open up this panel to get to the panel that you really want.  It's kind of like wanting to go out with one of your friend's friends. Do not have a cocktail and make-out with the wrong friend.  It would ruin everything.

This is an overview of the interior components that you will be connecting to the computer (see close-ups below):
1. The hard drive -- the top rectangle is a photo of my 2.5"  hard drive.
2. The header -- the small object with the metal prongs is the header.
3. The hard drive tray -- this is the rectangle on the bottom with the port hole in it.

My hard drive.  I will be keeping this. Yours might look different.

Close-up of header.  This is the actual header that comes with the computer.

Close-up of hard drive tray.  Included with your meal.
The next series of photographs will bring the hard drive and the header together at last.

They meet.

They connect and delicately join together.  In the final version, only the metal from the header's prongs is still visible.

After the header and hard drive are joined, the hard drive fits into the computer thusly.

But, you'll have to place the hard drive tray over the hard drive.  There are some odd bits that slide under and some screw holes to line up, but I was kind of done photographing for the night.  I think you'll figure it out.

This is what the final assembly will look like, but maybe not so blurry.  Still, you can clearly see the screw holes.  Don't forget to put the back cover back on.

Congratulations.
